134. The Everly Brothers

The Everly Brothers were popular a few years before my time.

Everly Brothers on Wikipedia

I first owned a copy of “All I Have To Do Is Dream” on a Dick Clark rock and roll compliation. I only recently discovered “Gone, Gone, Gone” when Robert Plant and Alison Krauss covered it on their successful collaboration Raising Sand. The Everly Brothers, along with the Franklin sisters (Aretha, Carolyn and Erma), are my favorite example of the sweet sound of sibling harmonies.

And a wild, manic rendition of “Gone, Gone, Gone”. More coffee please!
